  • Blooming Bath Wins 2015 What To Expect Award

For the second year in a row, the Blooming Bath for babies bathtub has been recognized as a What To Expect Award winner! The 2015 What To Expect Awards recognize excellence in baby registry products.

Blooming Bath’s plush yellow Blooming Bath was chosen as the What To Expect Moms Love-It Award winner in the bathing category.

One of the reasons we are so proud of this award is because it is chosen by real moms who use our products every day and love them.

The folks over at WhatToExpect used a proprietary algorithm and tracked interactions with products in WhatToExpect.com’s Love-It List section throughout 2014. The algorithm determined the most loved products in Babies ”R” Us’ “must-have” categories, creating a crowd-sourced baby registry list template that makes it simple for parents who are registering and shopping for a new baby.

Along with recognition as an award winner, the Blooming Bath will also get the Moms Love-It Award seal on WhatToExpect.com and be promoted in Babies R Us retails stores.

In fact, Babies “R” Us is hosting a Registry Party in its stores on January 17 to showcase all of the What to Expect Award winners. If you happen to be at Babies “R” Us on the 17th, be sure to look for the Blooming Bath for babies bathtub.

And, if you are expecting a baby soon yourself, don’t forget to kick off your baby registry with the Blooming Bath for babies bathtub. It’s the best way to bathe your baby and an award-winning baby shower gift.

Thanks again moms, for making us a second time winner of the WhatToExpect Moms Love It Award!

  • 2014 Baby Bath Highlights

It’s that time of year where we look at the calendar and say to ourselves, “where did the time go.”

Each December, before we get ready to ring in the New Year, we like to take a moment to pause and reflect on where we’ve come over the last 12 months.

For Blooming Bath, 2014 was an amazing year filled with new Blooming Bath products and partnerships.

Here’s a quick look at some of the highlights:

    Winter 2014
We opened 2014 by announcing a new Blooming Bath for babies bathtub color – green! Our green baby bath has been flying off the shelves ever since the announcement as it provides a great gender-neutral color option.

In February, we were honored to be chosen as an Editor’s Pick Gold Seal Award winner from WhatToExpect.com.

    Spring 2014
In spring we hosted our very first Twitter party and giveaway.

Mother Nature also put us to the test in May when we had to close our San Diego County-based office one day due to fire threats. Luckily, no one was hurt and we were able to resume our normal day-to-day operations and shipping of Blooming Baths the very next day.

    Summer 2014
The big news of the summer was the Blooming Bath for babies being added to Target stores nationwide!

    Fall 2014
In September we announced a brand new baby bath product coming out in 2015. Our hooded towels are not only adorable, they are soft and cozy just like the Blooming Bath for babies.

By November, we announced our baby bathtubs being added to more than 500 Babies “R” Us stores nationwide.

    2015

  • Baby's First Thanksgiving. What's On The Menu?

Thanksgiving is just around the corner. While you and your family are chowing down on turkey and all the fixings what will your new baby be eating for his or her very first Thanksgiving?

Turns out, the Thanksgiving menu lends itself to some great, healthy food options for babies.

The folks over at Parenting.com have put together list of baby food menu items for Thanksgiving that makes even our mouths water.

    Here are the highlights:

Pureed sweet potatoes for babies as young as 6 months. Keep the milk and butter out, but instead add a dash of cinnamon or nutmeg. Older babies who are used to solid foods can have slices of steamed sweet potatoes. Same goes for russet potatoes, butternut squash and pumpkin.

String beans cooked and cut into bite sized pieces are a tasty and healthy Thanksgiving option for babies.

For babies who are eating solid foods, small bits of turkey are the perfect introduction to their first Thanksgiving holiday.

While we suggest holding off on the pumpkin pie for a few years, a great sweet for ending baby’s first Thanksgiving meal is apples. Boiling apples to make them soft before running through a processor for a sweet, homemade apple sauce makes the perfect ending to the meal.

Then, just wait for the tryptophan to set in and baby's first Thanksgiving will end in a blissful nap that will have mom and dad extremely thankful.

  • Winter Baby On the Way? Get Ready for an Early Crawler

Despite winter officially being another month away, it’s getting darker earlier and the snow has already started to fly in certain parts of the country. All signs, winter is coming.

If you are one of those who dreads the winter, there is a bit of good news for moms who are expecting to have winter babies.

A new study out from the Journal of Reproductive and Infant Psychology reports that babies born in the winter start crawling, on average, five weeks sooner than babies who are born in the summer months.

The reason? Their wardrobe. That’s right. According to authors of the report, the ability to crawl earlier than their counterparts has nothing to do with athletic ability or smarts, it simply boils down to seasonal outfits.

The journal article says that babies born in the winter are ready to start crawling in the summer months and have the advantage of wearing less layers and less restrictive clothing. They also spend more time on the ground which gives them extra strength in their limbs and muscles. Summer days are also longer, making way for more time to play.

Babies born in the summer months, by contrast, are often heavily bundled and found in the arms of caregivers at the 7 to 10 month-mark when most babies typically start crawling.

The study classified “winter babies” as those born between December and May and “summer babies” as those between June and November.

The winter or spring babies began crawling in an average of 30 weeks while the babies born in summer and fall began crawling at 35 weeks.

So if you are due in the next few months, get ready to start baby proofing your house by early summer.
