  • Celebrities Love The Blooming Bath Too!

If there is one thing that is hot right now in the celebrity world– it’s having babies! Some of the most recognized names in Hollywood are welcoming new little bundles of joy into their lives – everyone from Jessica Simpson, to Drew Barrymore, to Kourtney Kardashian.

Many celeb moms and dads are also discovering the Blooming Bath as one of the most convenient, fun and adorable ways to bathe baby! Kourtney was even nice enough to send us along her appreciation for her new Blooming Bath in the form of a thank you note. And here it is:

Earlier this month, Kourtney and boyfriend Scott Disick welcomed baby girl Penelope Scotland Disick into the world. Congrats Kourtney and Scott! We know your little one will love her new bath just as much as the rest of our growing family of Blooming Bath users do!

Rumor also has it that Jessica Simpon’s new daughter Maxwell has been gifted a Blooming Bath, as has soon-to-be mom Drew Barrymore and Guiliana Rancic. Check back with our blog often, as we will be sure to post any additional celeb Blooming Bath notes or photos as we get them!

  • Tips For Bathing Baby

At Blooming Bath, we are happy to have brought so many moms, dads, grandparents and  relatives a more fun and safe way to bathe baby! We have gotten tons of emails, posts on our Facebook page and videos from customers who are singing the praises of the Blooming Bath as a more convenient, easy way to bathe baby. Even the babies agree (just check our our page and see some of the adorable photos)! We’ve also got some great tips from parents along the way for making their experience using the Blooming Bath even better.

We thought we’d share these tips and some overall baby bathing basics to help all of the new parents out there.

When you first bring your baby home from the hospital, experts recommend sponge baths until your baby’s umbilical cord stump falls off and the surrounding area heals. The Blooming Bath is perfect to use for those first few sponge baths. You can situate the Blooming Bath petals in a sink or in a plastic tub and warm up the flower with warm water. Drain excess water that has pooled, place baby in and moisten one of our super-soft puddle washcloths to wash baby’s hands, face and body. With baby’s back against the Blooming Bath, they get a full body sponge bath that is comfortable and easy on both baby and parent.

Once your baby is ready for a bath with more water, the Blooming bath is perfect because it protects soapy, wiggly ones by cradling them within its plush petals. One of our mommy reviewers suggests submerging the entire flower in warm water prior to situating it in the sink or tub so even the tips of the flower stay warm for baby. Another option is to pour warm water on the tips of the flower before placing baby inside. Another tip for those with especially deep sinks is to roll up a towel and place it under the Blooming Bath for even added protection and comfort.

And of course, anytime you bathe baby, keep in mind these important Safety Precautions:

Don’t ever leave baby alone in the bath.

Never put baby in the tub when the water is still running as it can change temperature and burn the baby. Experts suggest setting your water heater temp to 120 F to prevent potential burns.

  • The Most Popular Olympic Baby Names

The Summer Olympics are set to open next week and we just happened to stumble across a great (and timely) story about the most popular Olympic baby names in history. Since we always love hearing great ideas for baby names, we thought this would be a fun (and patriotic) one to share with the Blooming Bath community.

The story reported a number of surprising and not so surprising facts when it comes to the names of American athletes who have represented our country in past competitions.

While the name Michael has most recently come to dominate Olympic headlines, in total, there have only been about 60 Mikes or Michaels that have competed in the Olympics for the United States.

That number paled in comparison to the number of Johns that have competed in past Olympics. There have been 143 times that there has been a John competing for the United States in the summer games.

Of the male athletes who will represent the United States at this year’s event, the most popular name is Jake/Jacob. There are also a notable number of Nicks, Matthews (Matts) and Ryans who will be representing the United States across a number of different events.

When it comes to women athletes of years past, the most popular name has been some form of Kathryn, Kate or Katie, which tied with Susan/Sue as the most popular. A notable second place was Mary.

When it comes to this year’s female athletes, it seems that the historic trend has held true with seven athletes competing named Kate or Katie and eight women named Sarah (all spelled with the “h” on the end) competing.

So, which are your favorite Olympic baby names? If your baby is due during the Summer Olympics, some obvious choices would be Summer, Zeus or Olympia. But no matter what name you choose for your baby, you can get them ready for the swimming event early by practicing in their Blooming Bath!
