  • Baby Bath Time Is The Best Quality Time

We all know that bath time with baby is a special time. It allows for bonding between parents and baby, but did you know that bath time can also help with baby’s brain development?

A new study, Johnson’s Global Bath Time Report, shows that 84 percent of parents say bath time is the best quality time they get with their babies, while 58 percent of parents think it’s important for brain baby's development.

In fact, the report says that activities like splashing in the water teaches babies cause and effect, while playing with bubbles helps babies develop hand-eye coordination, as well as helps them discover that objects exist even when they can’t be seen.

In addition, the study found that babies bathed with a fragranced product spend nearly 25 percent less time crying before bed than babies who were not.

Of course, one of the things we love about bath time the most is how relaxing it can be for baby, especially when they bathed in the Blooming Bath bath tub. Don’t believe us? Just check out these adorable shots of some of our smallest fans.

  • Chinese Year of The Goat Starts Next Week

Due to have a baby next week? Next week marks the celebration of The Chinese New Year. And, based on the lunar calendar, the 2015 Chinese New Year starts on February 19, 2015 and lasts through February 7, 2016.

Each new year is represented by a different astrological sign. Chinese astrology consists of 12 different zodiac signs (rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, goat, monkey, rooster, dog and pig) represented by animals as well as five different elements (fire, earth, metal, water, wood) that change depending on the year.

Right now, the year of the Wooden Horse is coming to a close and on February 19, the year of the goat will begin.

Moms who are pregnant and will give birth between February 19, 2015 and February 7, 2016, will have babies born under the Chinese astrological sign of the goat.

According to the Chinese, the goat is said to be a symbol of both beauty and fortune. So what should parents who are expecting little goats expect?

Babies born under the goat sign are said to be mild mannered, quiet and gentle. They are also daydreamers and often creative and artistic.

The element associated with the 2015 goat is wood, which means parents can expect amicable and compassionate children as well.

The luckiest flowers for goat babies are carnations and primroses, but we like to think that Blooming Bath is a pretty good choice as well, especially for helping keep that mild-mannered nature during bath time.

Here are some other famous goats you may have heard of: Michelangelo, Claire Danes, Matthew LeBlanc and Barbara Walters.

  • 5 Tips For Starting Healthy Dental Habits Early

February is Children’s Dental Health Month.  The designation was given by the American Dental Association as a way to encourage good dental hygiene habits at an early age.

While your baby may still be a few months away from needing to use a toothbrush, it’s always a good idea to keep their dental health in mind from the start.

Here are 5 tips for ensuring your baby develops good dental hygiene habits early.

    1. Mom’s should use xylitol while pregnant and while nursing. Studies have shown that moms who chew xylitol gum or use xylitol mints both during and following pregnancy can help reduce the number of  cavities their children have. Xylitol, is a naturally occurring sugar, that helps reduce the amount of bad bacteria in baby’s mouth, leading to fewer cavities. By the age of 5, the children from the study whose mothers used xylitol early on had 70% fewer dental cavities than the others.

    2. Don’t send baby to bed with a bottle. Sending baby to bed with a bottle can allow liquid the settle around their teeth, creating a breeding ground for bacteria and eventually, cavities. Giving baby bottles of juice and formula are particularly bad and can create the dissolving tooth enamel, which leads to cavities.

    3. Start wiping down baby's teeth. Before your baby even gets his or her first tooth, you should get into the habit of wiping their gums gently with a wet washcloth. This helps remove bacteria.

    4. Start brushing. Your baby’s teeth will typically start coming in around the 6-month mark. At that time, you can buy a baby toothbrush to use with a pea-sized amount of fluoride toothpaste. Brush gently twice a day.

    5. Make their first dental appointment. Around the time your child turns one is a good opportunity to take them to the dentist for the first time. The dentist can evaluate any potential dental issues and suggest any need preventive risks at that time.

Taking these easy steps will help ensure your baby and his or her teeth get a healthy start.

  • See What The Stork Is Bringing In 2015

We promised new and exciting things coming your way in 2015 and now it’s time for a sneak peak to see what exactly the stork will be delivering customers this year.

Blooming Bath recently sat down for an interview with Project Nursery and revealed some exciting new products coming out soon.

    Hooded Towel

Late last year we made mention of this super absorbent, super adorable, plush hooded towel reminiscent of our signature plush Blooming Bath. The towel is perfect for our “older” babies.  And after we saw the latest round of pictures, we have a hunch that it’s not likely to stay in just the bathroom (can you say perfect for a pool party) The one-of-a-kind towel hoodies will be out soon in blue, hot pink and canary yellow.

    Baby Carrier

The second big bundle of news that came out in the interview is that Blooming Bath is going to be putting more weight into making sure baby is comfortable not only in the bathtub but out in the world because we are debuting a soft-front baby carrier this spring! You may recognize our signature bright, plush fabrics tied into this design. This product is going to be launching in the spring. Get ready moms!

  • Blooming Bath Wins 2015 What To Expect Award

For the second year in a row, the Blooming Bath for babies bathtub has been recognized as a What To Expect Award winner! The 2015 What To Expect Awards recognize excellence in baby registry products.

Blooming Bath’s plush yellow Blooming Bath was chosen as the What To Expect Moms Love-It Award winner in the bathing category.

One of the reasons we are so proud of this award is because it is chosen by real moms who use our products every day and love them.

The folks over at WhatToExpect used a proprietary algorithm and tracked interactions with products in’s Love-It List section throughout 2014. The algorithm determined the most loved products in Babies ”R” Us’ “must-have” categories, creating a crowd-sourced baby registry list template that makes it simple for parents who are registering and shopping for a new baby.

Along with recognition as an award winner, the Blooming Bath will also get the Moms Love-It Award seal on and be promoted in Babies R Us retails stores.

In fact, Babies “R” Us is hosting a Registry Party in its stores on January 17 to showcase all of the What to Expect Award winners. If you happen to be at Babies “R” Us on the 17th, be sure to look for the Blooming Bath for babies bathtub.

And, if you are expecting a baby soon yourself, don’t forget to kick off your baby registry with the Blooming Bath for babies bathtub. It’s the best way to bathe your baby and an award-winning baby shower gift.

Thanks again moms, for making us a second time winner of the WhatToExpect Moms Love It Award!
